I have been a creative person most of my life. After graduating from B. Y. U. in Theatre and Media Arts. I transfered the skills I learned in designing and painting sets to the canvas. My Artist Statment sums up my view of the world around me.
ARTIST STATEMENT: THE HORIZON IS ALWAYS CHANGING WITH ANOTHER VIEW TO TAKE ITS PLACE. THERE IS ALWAYS THE PROMISE OF A NEW HORIZON TO CHALLENGE US. THERE WILL BE NEW LIGHTS TO REFLECT THE COLOR OF THE LAND. THROUGH THE CREATIVE PROCESSES AND THE FILTER OF MY IMAGINATION, I CONTINUE TO TRY CAPTURING ON CANVAS THOSE IMAGES I LOVE: THE RED ROCK COUNTRY OF SOUTHERN UTAH, THE COUNTRYSIDE OR THE SPACE IMAGES OF THE SKIES. I ENJOY THE BRILLIANT COLORS OF MY PALLET TO INCREASE THE INTENSITY OF WHAT I AM SEEING. MY PAINTINGS SEEM TO RISE UP OUT OF THE STROKES OF MY BRUSH AS SMALL ISOLATED REPLICAS OF A LARGER CREATION THAT SOME HOW SEEMS EVER PRESENT IN MY SCRUTINY. THE PROCESS, THE EXPERIENCE WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS OUTDOORS, AND THE RESULTS, ALL INSPIRE ME TO CONTINUE TO HONE MY SKILLS IN THIS AMAZING CRAFT.
I would love to share your experiences.
